THE JOHN ROBERTS COMPANY IS NAMED WINNER OF THE HEIDELBERG ECO PRINTING AWARD
(Minneapolis, MN, May 31, 2011) The John Roberts Company, a full-service marketing communications and print provider, was named the “Most Sustainable Print Shop in the World" by Heidelberg through their Heidelberg Eco Printing Award.
In May 2011, an independent international panel of judges met to select the winners of the Heidelberg Eco Printing Award. Of the 51 entries that were submitted, the panel unanimously voted The John Roberts Company the winner of the “Most Sustainable Print Shop” category.
The jury cited the following in making their decision: “The panel was unanimous in voting The John Roberts Company in Minneapolis, United States, as the winner in the Most Sustainable Print Shop 2011 category. The John Roberts Company is a worthy winner of the main award in this year’s competition due to its participation in numerous certification systems, e.g. Sustainable Green Printer, its environmental achievements in recent years, the ambitious environmental goals it has set itself for the near future, and the corporate social responsibility that it demonstrates.”
Michael Keene, President and CEO of The John Roberts Company, accepted the recognition from Mark Carlson, Regional V.P. of Heidelberg, and stated, “I am extremely honored and extend my congratulations to all employees at The John Roberts Company for advancing sustainable practices across our operations. As with past recipients, this honorable award provides a positive incentive for The John Roberts Company to extend its commitments and continually improve our environmental footprint.”
As the winner of the “Most Sustainable Print Shop” category, The John Roberts Company will receive EUR 30,000 and the certificate at the award ceremony which will take place on July 6, 2011 in Heidelberg, Germany. When asked “How will you utilize this reward?” Michael Keene responded “We will invest into the company towards continuous improvement and lean sustainable manufacturing and business practices.” The award ceremony is a global event which objective is to provide sustainable print shops with the opportunity to discuss the topic of sustainability with all the other finalists.
